Denver Nuggets Advance to Second Round
Murray's heroics continue in Game 5
DENVER, Colo. - Jamal Murray hit a 14-footer with four seconds left and game the Nuggets a 114-112 Game 5 victory against the Los Angeles Lakers Saturday night.
The Nuggets won the series 4-1 and advanced to the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Denver trailed by five with 1:20 remaining but Nikola Jokic made a pair of free throws and Murray hit a 3-pointer to tie the game with 39 seconds left.
Anthony Davis gave the Lakers a 112-110 lead with 14 seconds remaining, but Murray answered with his game-winning shot.
Murray finished the night with 32 points. Jokic added 25 points, 20 rebounds and nine assists.
Davis led the Lakers with 30 points. LeBron James added 26 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.
The Nuggets will open the second round at home on Tuesday. Their opponent will be determined Sunday.
