Aggies Defeat Florida 6-0 to Clinch Berth

Texas AM baseball is headed to the College World Series championship series for the first time after defeating Florida 6-0 in game one of their best-of-three semifinal series on Saturday.

The Aggies, who are the No. 2 seed in the tournament, got a strong pitching performance from starter Nathan Dettmer, who allowed just two hits and two walks in six innings of work. Dettmer struck out nine batters and retired the first 12 batters he faced.

Texas AM's offense was led by Bryce Miller, who went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Miller's two-run single in the third inning gave the Aggies a 2-0 lead, and his RBI double in the fifth inning extended the lead to 3-0.

The Aggies added three more runs in the eighth inning to put the game away. Will Frizzell hit a two-run single, and Mikey Hoehner added an RBI single to make it 6-0.

With the win, Texas AM advances to the championship series, where they will face the winner of the other semifinal series between No. 1 seed Vanderbilt and No. 4 seed Louisville.
